Do not Reject the One Who speaks
“See that you do not reject the one who speaks. For if they did not escape when they refused the one who warned them on earth, how much more in our case if we turn away from the one who warns from heaven. His voice shook the earth at that time, but now he has promised, “I will once more shake not only earth but heaven.” Therefore, we who are receiving the unshakable kingdom should have gratitude, with which we should offer worship pleasing to God in reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:25-26, 28-29)
Today here at my home, the wind is blowing so strong on this day of the Lord, this Sunday Sabbath day. We can only praise God, for this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
But the wind today reminds me of a Pentecost moment, as the strong driving wind filled my entire spiritual house as our family took time today for contemplation and prayer, as our dear holy Mother is asking of us in her message of 8/25/10.
This whole scripture speaks of the penalty of disobedience to God. It begins with the children of Israel, who even after witnessing all the great works of the Lord, fell into complacency, and disdained the Word of God, as if He were not with them. Moses warned the people on countless occasions not to forsake the Lord and His commandments, and still today this warning seems to echo in my ears as I hear this scripture from today’s reading.
“…do not reject the One who speaks…from the one who warns from heaven…” Missed opportunity I wrote today in my journal. How many who have turned their backs on the one so dear to my heart who speaks from heaven today. When she is revealed to the world, I wonder how many hearts will cry out because they missed this opportunity to seek the refuge of the Mother of God. Our Lady often cries because many are still not listeningn to her and not living her messages.
The one who is from heaven is the one who is sending her from Heaven, her Son Jesus Christ. I often have this image of Jesus whispering into the ear of His Mother saying, “Tell them I said…” which is the origin of the message our Lady gives to the world.
From the beginning, God has raised prophets to voice His word to the people, who all so often strayed from His heart. It is not any different today for the same God who is unchanging. God is raising prophets today as He did from the beginning of time, to speak His Word to a fallen generation.
The same God who shook the earth in the desert with Moses said, that He will shake up the earth once more, and heaven with it. The Word of God is eternal and firm in heaven. The Word of God is Jesus Christ, fully alive yesterday, today and will be in the future. If the Word of God is spoken, it is already done; at a time and date no one will know but by the One who has spoken the Word. We deceive ourself if we say that it has not happened yet.
Knowing that the Lord will reveal Himself in a profound way to the world one day, maybe sooner than later as it is prophesised in Medjugorje, how many opportunities are we missing to glorify God in our spiritual poverty? How many missed opportunities am I missing to glorify God because of my own sin?
I know in my own personal life, there are too many opportunities I am afraid that are overlooked and missed because of my own brokenness. However, Our Lady is calling us to “make good use of this time of grace.” She is calling us to take time for prayer; personal prayer she said on 8/25/10. Not only just personal prayer does she call us, where we are doing all the talking, but to take the time to recollect in joy all that God has done for us. She is calling us to go deeper into contemplation. This means to go into our heart to heart listening mode with the Lord and to see God in everything and in all those whom we meet.
Well this puts a whole new meaning to the simple words of her message when one prayers and reflects on her messages. This means, slow down my brothers and sisters. There is too much un-necessary business in our fast pace world. We are living in ‘surround sound’ with noise everywhere. If we surround ourselves with constant noise the voice of God in the silent whisper of our hearts is drowned out. How can we hear Him if there is constant chatter all the time flooding our minds and our ears? As the saying goes, garbage in and garbage out.
Our Lady has said on one occasion; “go out into nature…glorify God the Creator in the beauty and colors of nature.” There is a silent stillness to nature, even when nature comes to life. If one takes the time to recollect in joy, he will feel within his heart that our dear Mother desires that we experience a new spring time within our hearts. She wants us to experience the heavenly Jerusalem of the inner peace in our hearts.
Who does not feel at peace when they are at the park, a lake or out in nature – while allowing the wind of the Holy Spirit to pass through the body breathing and flowing through our hair and into our nostrils? Who does not feel the freshness of the rainfall and the smell of the Holy Spirit pouring forth its blessing upon the earth in the rain? Everything seems to be brighter and more brilliant. The glory of God’s creation comes brilliant and alive.
Anew” is the word our dear Mother uses. Fresh new start…a new beginning…make today a new day to begin a new outlook. I know if I fall today, I can get right back up and begin anew to try again to work on that virtue, to pray all the harder, to reconcile what is eating away in my soul. There are many things in my own every day life I can begin anew. Yet today, Our Lady is calling us to begin anew to pray, pray, pray. Pray unceasingly and not stopping.
“Now” is the time to begin anew. Now is the time of mercy. Now is the time of grace. Right in this moment of time, in the present moment is NOW. Do not delay, for the Lord and His coming will not be delayed. How sad it will be for those who missed this opportunity of heaven’s visit with Our Lady who has been with us for almost 30 years now. For many there will come a time when this time NOW will expire.
By the word of Our Lady, “…you the faithful ones, take advantage of this time of grace and go deeper into your conversion…work all the more harder on your conversion…” Root out sin in your life. We are being given the grace to do this NOW, while the opportunity is NOW.
“Come Holy Spirit, stir within our hearts and kick up the dust and dirt in them, so our Lady can sweep clean our spiritual houses, that we may all be houses of prayer for all people, pleasing in the sight of God…” Ave Maria!
“Dear children, with great joy, also today, I desire to call you anew; pray, pray, pray. May this time be a time of personal prayer for you. During the day, find a place where you will pray joyfully in a recollected way. I love you and bless you all. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (Queen of Peace – 8/25/10)
