Dear friends, today in my morning prayer I was led to this message from Our Lady given on 3/25/2007. And its not even Lent, but fasting must be a lifestyle. Read on…
“Dear children! I desire to thank you from my heart for your Lenten renunciation. I desire to inspire you to continue to live fasting with an open heart. By fasting and renunciation, little children, you will be stronger in faith. In God you will find true peace through daily prayer. I am with you and I am not tired. I desire to take you all with me to Heaven, therefore, decide for holiness. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
I kept going back to this message at each decade of the rosary as I prayed fixed on her words at first that said,
“…by fasting and renunciation, little children you will be stronger in faith. In God you will find true peace through daily prayer…”
And what came to my heart were a couple of scriptures regarding the true peace of God. Jesus said to His apostles when He taught about the coming of the Holy Spirit,
“…Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled or afraid…” (Jn. 14:27)
AND also the scripture with Peter who declares that Jesus is the Christ:
“…Who do you say that I am? Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ And Jesus Answered him, ‘Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it, I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven ….” (Mt. 16:15-19)
And finally from (Mt. 7:24-27), “…Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon sand; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it…”
I understood through her message that with prayer, fasting and renunciation in this sense Our Lady desires to strengthen and fortify us as solid spiritual houses. When the storms of life come crashing in our spiritual house will be able to withstand.
By fasting and renouncing things already before the storms of life take over us, we are already built up as solid foundations on rock, and the faith is reproved and tested to see if we are able to uphold what we believe. We are conditioned like athletes to be fit to exercise the faith when we are met with the challenge. Even hell cannot have its way with us, through its provoking to sin, because we have already renounced what the world promises in false hope and false peace.
Those who do not live the message of Our Lady or of the gospel find themselves wavering and weak of faith, and cry out, grow angry at God because they don’t get what they want, or fall into despair.
Our Lady says, God is there to help, but she waits for our yes to accept the cross. Then she can give us to Jesus so that He can give us the graces we NEED. Not what we want, but what we NEED for our sanctification.
The Holy Spirit is the key, from the beginning. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that Jesus gave to His apostles to endure, to persevere, to accomplish the mission which was entrusted to them.
Remember on 6/2/2012 Our Lady just spoke about leading us to the door of heaven. We need the keys to open the door. She said it is the goodness, mercy, love and peace of Jesus that opens heaven. These are the keys given to Peter. He was empowered with supernatural grace of the Holy Spirit to be the gate keeper of these divine fruits and bring them to the world. Our Lady desires to give us the same spirit, the same gift, the same keys to bring heaven on earth. But we must choose to use the key to unlock the door and decide for holiness.
Our family has lived with Our Lady for over these past 20 years. She has taught this to us. We in the present time are going through another stripping as a family in our finances. We have been through this many times with her. But it is if we are being tested in our faith in God. Because we literally have nothing left from check to check except exactly what we need to have to buy gas for our vehicles and groceries for the home on a minimum level. Talk about trust and total dependency on God! But we also knew as a family that God was going to lead the world in this same direction. When that time comes we will be empowered to endure as we have been living this way for several years now. We practice it and live it.
We have to renounce all the extras that we want to do, and focus only on what we need. We have been learning to do this for many years now, and here we are again. We have to make use of what we have, and boy its tough sometimes to be creative with meals with so little. We’ve had a garden to grow our own food, and I taught myself how to can.
God gave us a beautiful home as a gift, and then moved us out of it a year later. While we still have the home, we are renting another home at another place/state, unable to enjoy the gift He gave to us. Why? Only He knows, but we know it is still for our sanctification and purification. We know He will call us back to the home He gave to us, but in the mean time we focus on conversion. I ask often, “who lives this way?” Well we do if we want to follow God. Just call us Abraham and Sarah!
But the bottom line is to simplify and learn to live simply not to be attached to anything of this world. When we are able to go on trips, and make purchases, we then have learned to see that it is a gift from God, because we know it is not something that we can freely get or do on our own. We have to pray to the Lord and seek His will for us, before we make purchases or go any where.
The Lord surprises us on many occasions especially when we are making a trip in His will and we don’t have the funds to do so. Out of no where will monies come, and we find it is exactly what was needed for us as a family. God is sooo good!
We are learning through all of this that this is how God is strengthening us in faith. We are a praying domestic church (family) and living as a house of prayer. We are building our house on a solid foundation, and it is fasting and renouncing the things of the world to is helping us see the error of our ways.
