“Dear children, I beseech you to start changing your life in the family. Let the family be a harmonious flower that I wish to give to Jesus Dear children, let every family be active in prayer for I wish that the fruits in the family be seen one day. Only that way shall I give all like petals as a gift to Jesus in fulfillment of God’s plan. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (5/1/86)
From true devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary (124-125) by St. Louis deMonfort
“It follows then that anyone who in this way consecrates and sacrifices himself voluntarily to Jesus through Mary may no longer dispose of the value of any of his good actions. All his sufferings, all his thoughts, words, and deeds belong to Mary. She can then dispose of them in accordance with the will of her Son and for His greater glory. This dependence however, is without detriment to the duties of a persons present and future state of life…we consecrate ourselves at one and the same time to Mary and to Jesus. We give ourselves to Mary because Jesus chose her as the perfect means to unite himself to us and unite us to him. We give ourselves to Jesus because he is our last end. Since he is our Redeemer and our God we are indebted to him for all that we are.”
(It is best to pray this novena while meditating not only on the words of Our Lady but with your rosary. Make a special act of prayer and devotion for this intention, and offer each day through your novena an act of penance or fasting.
Pray each day the Act of Consecration to the Holy Spirit, and prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Spirit at the end of each daily reflection, and conclude with the closing prayers as indicated at the bottom of the page. This novena may be repeated as often as necessary, to help your family grow more in the love of God.)
On Act of Consecration to the Holy Spirit
On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses I offer myself, soul and body, to You, Eternal Spirit of God. I adore the brightness of Your purity, the unerring keenness of Your justice and the might of Your love. You are the Strength and Light of my soul. In You I live and move and am. I desire never to grieve You by unfaithfulness to grace and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against You. Mercifully guard my every thought and grant that I may always watch for Your light and listen to Your voice and follow Your gracious inspirations. I cling to You and give myself to You and ask You by Your compassion to watch over me in my weakness. Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five Wounds and trusting in His Precious Blood and adoring his opened Side and stricken Heart, I implore You, Adorable Spirit, Helper of my infirmity, so to keep me in Your grace that I may never sin against You. Give me grace, O Holy Ghost, Spirit of the Father and the Son to say to You always and everywhere, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant heareth.” Amen
Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit
Lord Jesus Christ who before ascending into heaven, You promised to send the Holy Spirit to Your apostles and disciples.
Grant that the same Spirit may perfect in our lives the work of Your grace and love.
Grant us the Spirit of Fear Of The Lord that we may be filled with a loving reverence toward You. Grant us the Spirit of Piety that we may find peace and fulfillment in the service of God while serving others; the Spirit of Fortitude that we may bear our cross with You and, with courage, overcome the obstacles that interfere with our salvation; the Spirit of Knowledge that we may know You and know ourselves and grow in holiness; the Spirit of Understanding to enlighten our minds with the light of Your truth; the Spirit of Counsel that we may choose the surest way of doing Your will, seeking first the Kingdom; Grant us the Spirit of Wisdom that we may aspire to the things that last forever; Teach us to be Your faithful disciples and animate us in every way with Your Spirit.
First Day: Creation Awaits Fulfillment
Day 1 –
“Dear children, tonight I wish to tell you during the days of this novena to pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on your families and on your parish. Pray, and you shall not regret it. God will give you the gifts by which you will glorify Him till the end of your life on this earth. Thank you for having responded to my call.” 6/2/84
Holy Spirit, Lord of light!
From Your clear celestial height,
Your pure’ beaming radiance give!
Almighty and eternal God, send forth Your Spirit, who brought order from chaos at the beginning of the universe, and peace to the Lord’s disciples. Grant that I, as your creation, baptized in your Spirit, may be filled with the seven gifts so that I may forever do your will and renew the face of the earth. Amen.
Second Day: Christ’s Promise To Send The Paraclete
“…LISTEN TO ME! Take your rosary and get your children your families with you. This is the way to come to salvation. Give you good example to your children…” (2/2/90)
“My dear children, tonight your Mother is happy, happy, happy to be with you and to see you in such large numbers. I am happy for what we have done in this Year of the Youth. We have stepped a step forward. I would like to see in the future parents in the families work and pray as much as they can with their children, so they can from day to day strengthen their spirit. Your Mother is here to help each one of you; open yourselves to your Mother; She is waiting for you.” (8/14/89 – Special Blessing)
Come, Father of the poor!
Come, treasures which endure!
Come, Light of all that live!
Come, O Blessed Spirit of Holy Fear, fill me with devotion to God alone. In the Risen Christ, I welcome You, O Spirit of truth, whom the Father sends in Jesus’ name. Wash clean the sinful soul, and rain down your grace that we may be one with the Church in fidelity to our Lord Jesus, Christ.
Third Day: The Soul Of Christ’s Body, The Church
“Dear children, your Mother wants to call you to pray for the young of the whole world, for the parents of the whole world so they know how to educate their children and how to lead them in life with good advice. Pray, dear children the situation of the young is difficult. Help them! Help parents who don’t know, who give bad advice!” (10/24/88)
Thou, of all consolers, best,
Visiting the troubled breast
Dost refreshing peace bestow.
Come, O Blessed Spirit of Piety, possess my heart. God, our Father, may I, through the grace of your Spirit, be forever filled with filial affection for you. Grant that I may be inspired to love and respect all members of your family as brothers and sisters of Jesus, who, together with him, call you Abba, Father.
Fourth Day: The Dignity Of The Christian
“Dear children, I rejoice because of all of you who are on the way of holiness and I beseech you, by your own testimony help those who do not know how to live in holiness. Therefore, dear children, let your family be a place where holiness is born. Help everyone to live in holiness, but especially your own family. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (7/24/86)
Thou, in toil art comfort sweet;
Pleasant coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.
Come, O Blessed Spirit of Fortitude, uphold my soul in time of trouble and adversity.
O, Divine Trinity, grant that we may be strengthened to see in ourselves and each other the dignity that is ours as temples of Your Holy Spirit, to be loved by one another as each of us is loved by Jesus. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Fifth Day: Gifted To Serve And Build Others Up
“Dear children, today I invite you all to awaken your hearts to love. Go into nature and look how nature is awakening and it will be a help for you to open your hearts to the love of God the Creator. I desire you to awaken love in your families so that where there is unrest and hatred, love will reign and when there is love in your hearts, then there is also prayer. And dear children, do not forget that I am with you and I am helping you with my prayer that God may give you the strength to love. I bless and love you with my Motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call.” 4/25/93
Light immortal! Light Divine!
Visit Thou these hearts of Thine,
And our inmost being fill!
Come, 0 Blessed Spirit of Knowledge, and grant that I may perceive the will of the Father. Father, through Your Spirit, You invite us to participate in the fullness of Creation. Help me to see that all gifts are from You and intended for your Glory.
For there are many different gifts, but always the same Spirit, many ways of serving, but ‘always the same Lord. Amen.
Sixth Day: Human Weakness And Sinfulness
“Dear children, tonight also your Mother is warning that satan is at work. I would like you to pray special attention to the fact that satan is at work in a special way with the young. Dear children, during this period I would like you to pray in your families with your children. I would like you to talk with your children. I would like you to exchange your experiences and help them to solve all their problems. I will pray dear children, for the young, for all of you. Pray dear children. Prayer Is medicine that heals.” (9/9/88)
If Thou take Thy grace away,
Nothing pure in man will stay,
All his good is turn’d to ill.
Come, 0 Blessed Spirit of Understanding, enlighten our minds iixat we may appreciate and see more fully what we know by faith. Come to us in our weakness and give voice to our petitions, for “the prayers that the Spirit makes for God’s holy people are always in accordance with the mind of God.”
Seventh Day: Growth In The Freedom That Love Gives
“Dear children, your Mother asks you tonight, you who are present, when you get back into your home, renew prayer in your family. Take time for prayer dear children. I as your Mother especially want to tell you that the family has to pray together. The Holy Spirit wants to be present in the families. Allow the Holy Spirit to come. The Holy Spirit comes through prayer. That is why, pray and allow the Holy Spirit to renew you, to renew today’s family. Your Mother will help you.” (7/3/89)
Heal our wounds – our strength renew;
On our dryness, pour thy dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away!
Come, 0 Blessed Spirit of Counsel. Make my thoughts holy, my love pure, and my works pleasing to God. Father, guided by Your Spirit, may I strive to make loving choices and respect all life. May we be aware of our dignity as Your sons and daughters, redeemed with the Blood of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Eighth Day: Gifted Through The Spirit
“Dear children, tonight especially I would like to invite all the parents in the world to find time for their children and family. May they offer love to their children. May this love that they offer be parental and motherly love. Once again dear children, I call you to family prayer. During one of the previous encounters your Mother asked you to renew the family prayer. I ask that again tonight. During this period, let us pray together for all the young people of the world.” (7/31/89)
Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray!
Come, 0 Blessed Spirit of Wisdom, strengthen my faith, increase my hope, perfect my charity. Father, enlighten us each day, in the silence of our hearts, to discern the voice of Your Spirit, to do what He asks of us and to understand the gifts He freely gives us. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Ninth Day: Sent With The Power To Reconcile
“Dear children, today I am asking you to do something concrete for Jesus Christ. As a sign of dedication to Jesus, I want each family of the parish to bring a single flower before the happy day. I want every member of the family to have a single flower by the crib so Jesus can come and see your dedication to Him! (12/20/84)
Today again I call you to become carriers of my peace. In a special way, now when it is being said that God is far away, He has truly never been nearer to you. I call you to renew prayer in your families by reading the Sacred Scriptures and to experience joy in meeting with God who infinitely loves His creatures. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Thou on those who evermore,
Thee confess and Thee adore,
In Thy sevenfold gifts, descend;
Give them comfort when they die;
Give them life with Thee on high;
Give them joys which never end.
Father, through Jesus, Your Son, You sent the Paraclete to be at our side, to reconcile all Creation to you. Grant that I may be forever open to Jesus’ invitation to “Receive The Holy Spirit!” Father, open our hearts to accept Your forgiveness for our sins and to offer that same forgiveness to those who we feel have offended us.
For merciful forgiveness is the essence of Your love revealed in Your Son. Come, O Divine Spirit, fill my heart with Your Heavenly Fruits – Your charity, joy, peace patience, benignity, goodness, faith, mildness and temperance, that I may, by faithful submission to your Inspiration, merit to be united eternally with You in the love of the Father and the Son.

A prayer of Parents to the Holy Family
O Jesus only begotten Son of the Eternal Father, well beloved Son of the Blessed Virgin Mary and child of St. Joseph, we most fervently implore thee through Mary your ever blessed Mother and St. Joseph your mortal father to take our children under your special charge and enclose them in the love of your Sacred Heart. They are the children of your Father in Heaven, created after His own image; they are your possession, for you have purchased them with the price of your own precious blood. They are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who sanctified them in baptism and implanted in their hearts the virtues of faith, hope and love.
O most loving Jesus, rule and guide them, that they may live according to the Holy Catholic faith, that they may not waiver in their confidence in you, and that they may ever remain faithful to your love.
O holy Mary, our Mother and most Blessed Mother of Jesus, grant to our children a place in your pure maternal heart! Spread over them your protecting mantle when danger threatens their innocence; keep them firm when they are about to stray from the path of virtue, and should they have the mistfortune of falling into mortal sin, then raise them up again, reconcile them with your divine Son and restore them to sanctifying grace.
And please, O holy father St. Joseph, do not abandon our children! Protect them from the assaults of the wicked enemy and deliver them from all dangers of soul and body. O dear parents of the holy child Jesus! Intercede for us as parents also, that we may bring up our children in the love and fear of God and one day attain with them the beatific vision. Amen.
